Common Heart
Get involved and make a difference in our community!
In addition to air to breathe and water to drink, food is a most basic necessity of life. It is hard to believe that according to the UNC School of Government 21.9% of children here in Union County, NC live in homes that are food insecure. Common Cupboard helps to change those numbers through its delivery and traditional pantry programs.
Ready to get involved?
Option # 1: Volunteer as a warehouse volunteer. The Common Heart team is always looking for volunteers to help sort and stock the shelves of the warehouse. Have a couple hours to give back? Email to set up a time - kids supervised by an adult are welcome to help too!
Option #2: Run a food drive. A simple and straightforward way to help is by rallying together a few families to donate non-perishable food. Keeping the Common Cupboard shelves full is the highest priority - especially while students are out of school for the summer! You can drop off donated food to Common Things Thrift Store 10 am - 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
